I keep meaning to take a picture of the snow outside. I keep forgetting. Maybe I'll take a picture of the snow when we park tomorrow morning at the airport.
Miner made it to the kennel just fine. Quite a nice place, according to Dave. He gets to run around outside ever 3 hours. Which is more than we let him out on your average weekday. Plus, he has a new lion squeaky guy, a new tug and a rawhide chew in the shape of a candy cane that my in-laws gave him for Christmas. He's spoiled rotten. I still miss him.
But I get to see my seester and brutha-from-anutha-mutha and Owie tomorrow!!! And get out of this damn cold.

He's just a dog
I am doing my best to remind myself that Miner is just a dog. I'm feeling a little guilty about leaving Miner for about 2 weeks when we go to Hawaii. A friend at work keeps reminding me, "Amy, I leave my son for a week and don't fret near as much as you are about this. Miner is a dog." David is grateful for this.
Growing up, we never put our dogs in a kennel. Neighbors always just made sure they were let out, fed, etc. Really, the kennel will be like a vacation for Miner (my friend from work also says this). They let him out every 3 hours. He gets to play with other dogs. There is radiant-in-floor-heating.
He'll be fine. He's just a dog.

Poor Puppy
We are under an ice storm warning until midnight tonight, or something like that. It's still raining, but judging by the growth of the icicles on the garage, it's not super freezing, yet.
Since Miner can't play outside all day, he instead sits in our bedroom and watches the birds at the bird feeders.
If he isn't in there, he's pouting on the couch.

storm of the century...again?
It looks like there's more mess headed our way. All I can say is that this crappy weather makes me all the more excited to fly to Hawaii in less than 7 days!!!

Christmas Shopping Part Dos
I hate shoppers. I know that I am one of them, but... At least I got my mother-in-law's present taken care of. Unfortunately, I didn't stop at Best Buy. Turns out they have the exact size laptop sleeve I need. The one close to us even has it in stock. Maybe before supper I will get back out and go get it. At least the roads are all clear for the most part.

Christmas Shopping Part 1
I took a 1/2 day at work today to go shopping with my friend Barb and her cousin Jana. I hadn't been on a girlie shopping trip since Mom, Holly and I had the encounter with the crazy sales lady in Nieman Marcus in Austin. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun. I got some gifts for my secret santa person at work, something for my niece Amanda's birthday, and something for my mother-in-law. This will be an easy Christmas, because the Pousson family is not giving gifts since we all bought plane tickets to Hawaii. Just the in-laws to shop for, and we won't do Christmas with them until after Hawaii, I think...so Hawaiian shirts for everyone! Only partially kidding there. :)

...day after
The day after the storm of the century is apparently when everyone goes to Farm & Fleet and Target. "Amy, Farm & Fleet, seriously?" you say. To that I say: best dog chew toys ever. It's where Miner's favorite squeaky toys come from and the most affordable 'tug' ropes ever. He needed new ones of both. But seriously...PACKED.
At some point during football yesterday afternoon, we're watching all the cancellations scroll across the bottom of the screen. David says, "Really, they should just put 'Everything - Canceled"
