getting high

David's putting the laminate on the counter top that will be my desk in my home office. So, the whole house smells like adhesive. Crazy stinky.

Did another PT class today after regular jazzercise. Pretty sore, but I feel good. 9 down. 91 to go.

damn pants

I am working at a trade show in March. As are about 150 other people that work in our division. This means we had to order uniforms. My uniform pants came today. I am not sure what kind of people wear high-waisted, polyester-blend khaki pants that itch like burlap. Apparently John Deere people do. To make it worse, I ordered the largest size option for women, and they are tight. I was already feeling crappy about myself. These just pushed me over the edge. Well, at least I will do something about myself tomorrow...jazzercise in the morning followed by a PT class. The official tally is now 7 down...93 to go.

What do you call a rainbow...

...that is caused by frozen clouds and snow? A snow-bow? I saw one this morning and again on the way home. David says they are called sun dogs. Which must be true, because they were vertical, just like the wikipedia photo.

Happy Hallmark Day!

For Valentine's Day, David grilled some steaks on the stove, cooked some fresh broccoli and I made garlicky oven fries (out of the current Cook's Country). Let me tell you...DEEE-liscious!

He's been working on building me a bookcase and a desk for my office (formerly known as the guest room). And he gave me some new earrings and a cool post-it note holder. I got him an Ohio State trailer hitch cover for his truck.

Oh, and 5 down. 95 to go.

Slacking off a little...

Jazzercise this morning was good. I haven't been since last Saturday. Tuesday and Wednesday were out, because schools were canceled (which means so is Jazzercise). Thursday and Friday were late days at work. Eh...what are you gonna do? I think we're taking the dog for a walk in the snow this morning. Before it gets down to -8 (-30 wind chill) like they are calling for this afternoon. Texas girl is learning to like the snow. Well, maybe not like it, but at least learn to better deal with it.

4 down, 96 to go.

Snow, Snow and More Snow

Yesterday, we got 12 inches of snow. This was on top of 4 or 5 inches on Sunday. It sure is pretty, but a real pain in the ass to drive in.

Miner sure likes it, though. He spends a lot of time sniffing around the trees where some birds set up shop. Yesterday he also killed a small rodent (we think a shrew) that was in this general area. The birds are getting hungry, I haven't filled the feeders because I don't want to step in all the snow! I know, I'm a wuss.

Super Bowl

We had friends over Sunday for the big game. 4:30 pm was our 'show up around' time. At about 4:15 it started snowing...a lot. Which kinda bummed me out since we made all this food that we don't normally make unless there are plenty of other people coming over to help eat it. Luckily, my friends are from the Midwest and don't fear winter weather like I do. So we had a good time. Anna (2 year old daughter of friends Amy and Jeff) chased the dog around. Kaitlyn (3.5 year old daughter of friends Barb and John) got to play her favorite game with David. It's called Superman and basically entails her running at full speed towards David, him catching her, throwing her up in the air and tickling her. So, we had those two for entertainment. Which was nice, because the commercials sucked this year. Lucky the game was good. I like it when the underdog wins.

The Food: chili, cornbread, guacamole, veggie dip, summer sausage, cheese, velveeta/rotel dip, cookies and brownies. (That's Anna
in the corner of the one picture.)

exercise

I have started back at Jazzercise. I can tell I am out of shape, but hey, at least I am working on it. This morning, while standing there waiting for class to start, I was looking at the 100+ class 'wall of fame.' You get your name up there if you go to 100 classes or more in a calendar year. That's really only an average of 2 classes per week. I can totally do that. SO. That's my goal.

For 2008...3 down, 97 to go!
